Solomon, chairman of the management committee of Olympics named the players as Fuseini Adams, Aziz Ansah and Joe Louis.
In a chat with the GNA Sports,
the chairman said, "Kotoko has not paid us a cedi on any of the three
players since they bought them from us and our patience is getting exhausted on
the issue." He said they have written to Kotoko on the outstanding bills
of the three players and are waiting for a reply from the Interim Management
Committee headed by Mr Sylvester Asare Owusu.
Solomon said the Olympics
management committee had written many letters to Hebert Mensah, former chief
executive of Kotoko who did not address the issue before his exit as chairman
of Kotoko.
The chairman said they have also
written several letters to the Ghana Football Association and are awaiting
their response and action on the status of the three players. He said Olympics
has opened negotiations on Razak Pimpong
with his Danish Club because the player's initial contract has expired and
"we wish to benefit from the transfer agreement," which traded him to
On the departure of Michael Asante to Kotoko, he said though they treasured the
contribution of the player, they could not restrain his movement because he was
not their bona fide property, as he was only serving a loan agreement between
them and Great Ashantis.
"Though we do not lay claim
to any direct financial benefits from the deal with Kotoko on Asnate, Georgido could
reciprocate our efforts in turning him into a super star by giving us a
percentage from the transaction." Solomon assured supporters of the club
that coach Afranie has taken full control of the
technical direction and was making a great impression on the players.
Buttressing the claims of the chairman
on the three players, Oloboi Commodore, Finance
Officer of Great Olympics said he was surprised by the inaction of the GFA in
relation to the players adding that "if the letters were written by
Kotoko, they would have taken a decision a long time ago."
He said Olympics could not give
the exact value of the players because they were transferred by the Ade Coker administration, which failed to document the
deals properly. "All we saw in the files were their release letters and we
expect the GFA to initiate action to resolve the issue once and for all,"
he said.

The Queens who have been in camp
for the past six weeks were expecting to receive allowances covering the six
weeks that they had been in camp but "this dream was dashed when we were
paid for only one out of the six weeks.
Information gathered by the GNA
Sports, said the team was promised the rest of the allowance by the close of
the week. Some players the GNA Sports spoke to expressed unhappiness about the
way things were being handled and called on the officials concerned to seek the
welfare of the players and to do things that would motivate them to give off
their best.
Indications are that the
Ministry of Youth and Sports is yet to release money to meet payment of the teams bonuses after several weeks of application by the Ghana
Football Association (GFA). It is not known whether the recent reshuffle at the
ministry could further prolong the payments.
It became clear in an
interaction with a couple of players that the players are not generally happy
with their feeding which majority of them described as awful. Irrespective of
the complaints, moral in camp could be said to be at its peak as the players,
according on coach Aryee, are gradually improving and
mastering their roles.
The coach commended the FA for
releasing the official bus of the Black Stars to the team saying "the
availably of the bus has been very helpful in the sense that the team is able
to train at the beach and play friendly games with local teams when
possible"

Adununoo who walked into the offices of

The player said though her

operating from the right flank. "I have the speed and the skills to score
the goals for the national team and my exclusion from the team would be a great
disincentive to us the young players upon whose shoulders the future of Ghana's

Daboase (Western Region) 09 April 2003
- The Annual Western Region Inter District Under 12
Soccer Championship opened at Daboase in the Mpohor-Wassa East District on Monday.
It is being organised to select
a team to represent the Western Region in the Inter-Regional Under
12 Soccer Tournament scheduled for
Opening the tournament, Joseph Boahen Aidoo, Western Regional
Minister, said the institution of the under 12 Soccer Championship was to
provide convenient platform to unearth the hidden talents and potentials in the

present globalised world bring honour and glory to
nations and "it is therefore imperative that all sporting activities need

top national sportsmen and women. Beyond
its academic value, sports provide personal discipline, mental toughness, team
work, dedication and unity", he stated.
Aidoo appealed to all students and
especially those who have the talents to take sports seriously. "Most of
our sportsmen and women, who have gained international recognition
developed their talents when they were in school", he said.
The Regional Minister said the
Government would ensure that sports development is given the much-needed
attention in schools particularly at the basic level. Aidoo
