Parliament being recalled to consider Dagbon

Accra (Greater Accra) 15 April 2003- Parliament is to reconvene at 1000 hours on Tuesday, 15 April to consider the State of Emergency imposed on the Dagbon Traditional Area.

The House, which went on recess on 28 March would reconsider the State of Emergency and curfew hours in accordance with Article 31 (3) of the Constitution. Freddie Worsemao Blay, First Deputy Speaker of Parliament said the recall was in pursuance of Standing Orders 42 (3) and 13 (2) of Parliament to recall members from the recess.

The House would also discharge the responsibility imposed on it in relation to the approval of the Presidential nominations for appointment as Ministers and Deputy Ministers.
