Amankwah, who joined the Phobians from Okwawu United in 1998 has been one of the most loyal and
dedicated players of the club until he decided to seek floating status upon his
arrival from the United States a few months ago.
Speculations
were rife that he was flirting with Asante Kotoko
and, later Okwawu United, however, having pitched
camp with his Hearts colleagues has eventually put paid to the rumours.
Amankwah’s decision to smoke peace pipe with management and stay
with Hearts was due to the GFA’s Player Status
Committee ruling that his case be settled out of the GFA’s
jurisdiction. It is against this background that both Amankwah
and Hearts officials decided to settle the impasse between them amicably. – Hearts

Information
gathered from the FA’s secretariat indicates that, the committee would have its
final sitting on the appointed date, after which a decision would be taken. Kotoko’s newly appointed Interim Management Committee are expected to attend the sitting.
