Maame Esi Acquah, a nineteen-year-old student of the University of Cape Coast was crowned as the winner of the converted Miss Lux Universe 2000 last Friday, 24 March.
The Accra Conference Centre became the venue where the final search for Miss Lux Universe 2000 was made. A large number of people were at the Conference hall to watch the ten competing girls. Maame Esi who is also a presenter on Radio Universe won the pageant ahead of the other girls. Eleanor Adjaho, a student placed second while Sheila Pabifio, a secretary came third.
For her Prize Maame Esi will receive a 2 bedroom house, a luxurious Mercedes Benz car for her official use, a personal car at the end of her reign, a cash award of 7million cedis, including a 2million cedis finalist award, an airline ticket to take part in the Miss Universe Pageant on the Isle of Cyprus in May, a 10million cedis personal appearance wardrobe, a Miss Lux Universe 2000 official signature jewellery set, a trophy and a Miss Lux Universe Ghana 2000 official crown and crown case.
She has also secured for herself an advance package of a 5million cedis education grant, a personal computer and a 2month career advancement internship programme.
